I have a friend that was a Bigfoot researcher. He moved to my area of the country a few years back and I have had the chance to talk with him on many occasions about his childhood growing up near Mt.St. Helen. I live in East Tennessee and here the subject of Bigfoot is still very taboo, but out in many communities in the North West (Washington, Oregon, Northern California) Bigfoot is part of the landscape.
My friend told me that the locals see them from time to time. A sighting is treated like the occasional bear sighting.. He said a average conversation down at the local sporting good store could go like this:

I have found a similar situation in a small community near where my public land research area is located. I have befriended a couple people from that area and have gained their trust. They both have told me that almost everyone in the community has a Bigfoot story. Either someones dad, grandfather, brother, sister, etc. has seen one. The stories are only shared among the members of the community and no one tells outsiders for fear of ridicule.
My favorite sighting told to me by a friend from this area involves a group of juveniles playing and "rough housing" in an open field back in the 1960s. My friend told me his grandfather had gone back on the property to cut the hay in an isolated field surrounded by woods. He said the field was about 20 acres and when his grandfather started cutting the hay he noticed across the field it looked like some teenage boys were as he put it "rough housing and playing" out in the field. He was puzzled by what some boys would be doing on his property this far away from any houses or roads, but since they were doing no harm he figured they were local boys and when he got around to them he would see who they were. When he came closer to them he realized they were not boys at all, but a group of five or six young Bigfoot. He had seen Bigfoot before so he was not really concerned. As he drove passed cutting the hay the Bigfoot paused and just looked at him as the passed. When he had gone a little way the went back to playing. The Bigfoot continued to play in the field for several more passes, ignoring the tractor on subsequent passes. Then like boys will do they appeared to get tired of fighting and ran back into the woods.
I think the reaction of both the Bigfoot and the grandfather are very telling. The grandfather was not shocked or scared. It was just one of those things that was seen in this area often.
So when the DNA results are finally published or some very clear HD video of a Bigfoot hits the major news outlets, it will be old news to many in America. After flying to Phoenix, Arizona, he was soon a passenger on a bus with blacked out windows, and driven for about four hours to an unknown location.

All of the personnel on the bus were instructed to not communicate with each other. Stancil claims that everyone on board was a stranger to him. After arriving at the desert location, which was about a four hour ride north of Phoenix, the first thing that Stancil saw were two large military light-alls illuminating the night scene almost like daylight. The investigator saw the reason for the mission-a disc-shaped object about 30 feet in diameter partially buried in the sand.

UFO SIGHTING IN BIG BEAR, CALIFORNIA ON OCTOBER 17TH 2013 - DID NOT WITNESS EVENT, PICTURES THAT I TOOK WITH A CELL PHONE TURNED UP A NEON GREEN HALF HALO THAT MOVED ALL OVEFMy wife and I went on a helicopter ride up in Big Bear,CA on 10/17/2013. Were driving home back to Victorville on the backside of HWY 18 at about 4:30 in the afternoon, my wife was trying to take pictures of the sun breaking over the ridge with her cell phone and her phone was dying, she had no charger with her so I started to use my phone for her. We got to a point on HWY 18 where the sun was almost just right so we decided to pull over in a turn out to take some pictures. I rolled down my window and started taking photos with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, at first my phone was zoomed all the way out to really get a close shot of the sun coming over the hill, to be honest it didn't seem to look good on the screen, not the picture, so I backed the zoom all the way out and started taking photos from there. I took enough pictures and we figured we would be ok and that the ones I took would work. We decided to roll up the windows and take off to head home. A foot note, the road was dead, there was no traffic that came by when we were shooting the photos, as I said my window was down, I was not shooting with a flash that I can remember, and even if I was using the flash the pictures I got were moving all over the hillside and down and forward towards us, so a flash explains nothing. I am a skeptic, but seeing is believing. I do believe that there are things out there that we cannot explain and this is going to be one that is on that list. My wife and I had absolutely no idea that these photos were captured when we were there, or believe me I would've stayed and shot video and taken more pictures, you can count on that, we discovered the photos that night laying in bed looking at them, our life is busy, by the time we got home it was dinner time so I we got home and just started taking care of that stuff and then just finished off the night with watching some TV, like I said, we discovered the pictures laying in bed that night before we went to sleep. Anyway, I am looking for answers and would like to be referred to someone that can analyze these photos. There are actually 2 of these "things", in the first couple of semi blurred photos there are actually a few things going on other than just two dots, there are halos forming above one of them and there are also grey matter that forms in front of these things as well. In reading the FOIA documents on the various CIA/DIA/NSA websites, you sometimes come across a reference to "PROJECT MOON DUST." I thought I'd take some time to see what I could track down on this Project for my own curiosity.
The June 1986 (number 8) issue of the "JUST CAUSE" Newsletter (click here) contained an item on Project Moon Dust. The article referred to work undertaken by researcher Robert Todd, who in 1979 received a document released by the USAF. The document was identified as AFCIN-1E-0, and dated 3 November 1961.
Although the document had deletions, the following could be made out:
* "...in addition to their staff duty assignment, intelligence team personnel have peacetime duty functions in support of such Air Force projects as Moondust, Bluefly and UFO..."
* "Blue Fly has been established to facilitate expeditious delivery to FTD of Moon Dust or other items of great technical intelligence interest. AFCIN SOP for Blue Fly operations, February 1960, provides for 1127th participation."
* "As a specilized aspect of its over all material exploitation program, Headquarters USAF has established Project Moon Dust to locate, recover and deliver descended foreign space vehicles. ICGL # 4, 25 April 1961, delineates collection responsibilities."
* "Peacetime employment of AFCIN intelligence team capability is provided for in UFO investigation (AFR 200-2) and in support of Air Force Systems Command (AFSC) Foreign Technology Division (FTD) Project Moon Dust and Blue Fly...These three peacetime projects all involve a potential for employment of qualified field intelligence personnel on a quick reaction basis to recover or perform field exploitation of unidentified flying objects, or known Soviet/bloc aerospace vehicles..."
I located a website (click here) which had the text of the 25 April 1961 document - titled US Air Force Intelligence Guidance Collection Letter 4.
Its subject was Moon Dust reporting in "...response to Moon Dust alerts."

Files from the State Department included UFO cases and reports of sightings. These documents shed light on the history of the time, but overall, that's as far as they went."
"However, some documents did reveal interesting bits of information, even if not about Kecksburg. For example, a one page "memo for record" was prepared by Richard Schullherr, a NASA engineer whose responsibilities included fragology (he was custodian of the fragology files) and who was a liaison to Project Moon Dust, the federal program involving the retrieval of space debris and objects of unknown origin. Dated January 18, 1969, the memo records a visit Schulherr made to the Foreign Technology Division (FTD) of the Air Force Systems Command at Wright Patterson AFB. The purpose was to identify some space debris which had been sent to
NASA, and to "re-establish personal liaison with newly assigned FTD Moondust personnel" headed by Lt. Robert McGill."

The sightings of what were called "ghost rockets" in Europe, mostly in Sweden, in the aftermath World War II, is well-known to students of UFOlogy, if not to the general public. They were "ghost rockets" in the sense that people reported seeing objects they described as "rockets" or "missiles," yet no evidence of the actual existence of such objects has ever turned up. After all, a "mystery missile" is no different from a "ghost rocket." It is no wonder that, in such an atmosphere, people in Sweden, seeing the unfamiliar new phenomenon of high-altitude contrails, sometimes perceived them as menacing rockets launched by one great power or another.
Those in the U.S. and Canada today, however, who make up conspiracy stories in the same vein, even in situations where "ghost rockets" would have to have been fired on land, do not have the extenuating circumstances that the Swedes had sixty-four years earlier.
