Deathbed Confession Aliens Did Crash At Roswell
As the 60th festivity of the Roswell Adventure approaches, a document has surfaced which is so they say the deathbed poor example of the PR overseer of the Roswell Air force base at the time. In this sworn acknowledgment, it is claimed that alien bodies were advance.Lieutenant Walter Haut was the public clique overseer at the base in 1947 and was the man who issued the innovative and following press releases after the crash on the guidelines of the base leader, Colonel William Blanchard.Haut died last time but left a sworn acknowledgment to be opened lone after his passing away. In arrears week, the copy was released and asserts that the weather balloon handhold was a cover story and that the real object had been advance by the military and stored in a hangar. He described seeing not absolutely the craft, but alien bodies.Haut's acknowledgment talks about a erudite get together he attended together with base leader Col William Blanchard and the Chief of the Eighth Air force Air Strain, General Roger Ramey. Haut states that at this get together, pieces of remains were handed thereabouts for participants to bond, together with nothing able to itemize the concrete.Haut hence tells how Colonel Blanchard took him to "Arrangement 84" - one of the hangars at Roswell - and showed him the craft itself. He describes a insolent egg-shaped object thereabouts 3.6m-4.5m in breadth and thereabouts 1.8m liberal. He held he saw no windows, wings, tail, landing bags or any other method. He saw two bodies on the pounded, to some extent smooth by a oilcloth. They are described in his rule as about 1.2m tall, together with disproportionately serious heads.Towards the end of the acknowledgment, Haut concludes: "I am sure that what I meticulously observed was some devoted of craft and its group from noticeable space".Distended article

NASA has backed The Sun's investigate of Britain's X-files.

A top scientist from the US labelled the Suns barefaced bid to recount alien activity in the UK as "answer".

Cash-strapped Ministry of Defence chiefs in disguise axed the turn that investigated UFOs last month.

But now The Sun has picked up the employees as odd space sightings are close to an all time high.

American Dr Christopher McKay - a NASA extra-terrestrial investigator - said: "It is answer to grip a recount of UFOs.

"I notion it is solely chilly as a human to roll whether donate is life emerge of Mud.

Unsolved

"The inhabitants are by all means probing in the strange sightings so it is gratifying to log them."

Dr McKay - warm up of NASA's Variance Science Bough such as 1982 - has spent his race looking for extra-terrestrial life.

The planetary scientist was the co-leader of the Mars Phoenix Lander post in 2008.

The investigate dug up chunks of ice on the Martian completion anew fuelling charge that years organisms existed on the Red Planet.

And he is unavailable measures a new post to Mars in search of life.

He meant The Sun's bid to recount the UFOs over the UK intersection the exceedingly the butt he was striving for - to discover alien life forms.

He added: "Tracking UFOs is the exceedingly as the rightness that I imprison. My rightness is from a official position but I am asking the exceedingly inkling.

"We are both asking the inkling - are donate other life forms out there?"

British Mars proficient Tutor Colin Pillinger CBE echoed NASA's Dr McKay.

He celebrated The Sun for reviving the MoD's UFO project after they silent it down on December 1 2009.

Any sightings in Britain apparition now NOT be officially recorded like MoD chiefs identified the lb50,000-a-year turn an "rude use of defence assets".

It came despite the consequences the at hand TRIPLING of understood UFOs in the company of 2008 and 2009 to 643.

Prof Pillinger headed the Beagle 2 post to Mars - which at last glossed in passing away when the unmanned investigate crashed on Christmas Day 2003.

He said: "The Sun is might to grip the UFO files leaving.

"You imprison an air force of readers who could impair up something remarkable.

"Costume if it is not alien life, it could be a meteorite which are of fine admit to the official feel at one with.

"The Sun is might to persist in reporting UFOs.

"Purely like we do not perceive sound something does not mean it is not perfectly."

Higher US educator Albert A Harrison, from the Assistant professor of California, very backed our UFO files.

Prof Harrison - who served moreover NASA - said: "The project it is answer to report UFOs is like it fascinates kind who are probing in capability life in the universe and whether or not we are flummoxed.

"Such surveys can be mined for constructive information and absolute conducted research is sensible."

The space watchers were in London for two go of consultation at the Utter College entitled "The Gratitude of Extra-terrestrial World and the Value for Science and College".

The Sun re-launched the nation's X-Files last week.

Dust In The Wind Star System Where Earth Like Planet Is Likely Forming And Universal Evolutionary Biomarkers

Welcome! "Alien Life" tracks the latest discoveries and thoughts in the various elements of the famous Drake Equation. You may notice that this and future entries are shorter than usual; career, family and book deal commitments have forced me to cut back some of my projects. Now, here's today's news:

g STARS - The hit song that proclaimed, "All we are is dust in the wind," may have some cosmic truth to it. New findings from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope suggest that space dust - the same stuff that makes up living creatures and planets - was manufactured in large quantities in the winds of black holes that populated our early universe. See article.

g ABODES - Astronomers have spotted a star system 424 light-years away where they think an Earth-like planet is likely forming. They've found a belt of warm dust that has enough mass to form a planet the size of Mars or larger. See article.

g LIFE - In view of the substantial challenges ahead in instrumentation and trials on Earth analogs, we must now begin to plan a second generation of feasible evolutionary experiments with whole microorganisms. In those new experiments universal evolutionary biomarkers should be searched for. See article.

g MESSAGE - The first episode of "I Love Lucy" was broadcast sometime on Oct. 15, 1951. About 0.0002 seconds later, the signal glided over the rooftops of the farthest city suburbs, and headed into space. It's still going. Every day, that first installment passes through an additional 4 thousand trillion trillion trillion cubic kilometers of the cosmos. Given that stars in our galactic neighborhood are separated by about 4 light-years, it's easy to figure that roughly 10 thousand star systems have been exposed to "I Love Lucy" in the past five decades. That may suggest a high Nielson rating, but the chance that extraterrestrials are now hooked on 1950s television is low. See article.

g COSMICUS - Fifty years ago, science fiction became science fact. On Oct. 4, 1957, the Soviet Union, having worked in complete secrecy, launched Sputnik I. Humankind's first man-made satellite, a tiny ball that beeped its presence as it orbited the globe, shocked the world and set in motion a new age. See article.

g LEARNING - A computer program called Second Life provides educators with unique opportunities to connect with students in a virtual landscape - including astrobiology. See article.

g IMAGINING - Like first contact stories? Then be sure to read Isaac Asimov's "The Gods Themselves" (published by Ballentine in 1972).

g AFTERMATH - Among scientists involved in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, it's quite common to be focused on the future, ever mindful that it could take years, or even decades, to find a signal from otherworldly intelligence. But if historian Steve Dick has his way, astronomers will also turn their attention toward the past as they search for life beyond Earth - to discover the aftereffects of contact between two intelligent cultures. Marinha Norte Americana Foi Atacada Por Naves Do 4 Reich Na Antrtida

Marinha Norte Americana Foi Atacada Por Naves Do 4 Reich Na Antrtida

Serpent Mermaid Or Submarine In Grand River

Serpent Mermaid Or Submarine In Grand River
Strange creatures lurking in area bayous and waterways have made headlines in the Grand Haven Tribune since the latter half of the 1800s. In the 1890s, Tribune Publisher Horace Nichols wrote that having a sea serpent somewhere near a hotel or resort was actually good for business, as it drew in tourists.

The most famous of unidentified serpents or water creatures was the monster of Stearns Bayou, which made a few appearances out front of the old Gun Club near the bridge in August 1909. Several credible witnesses saw the large, glowing, turtle-like creature with a long neck and hippopotamus-like head. The Tribune published four articles concerning it.

What it was - if it ever was - remains a mystery. It never reappeared.

Most sightings of water creatures remain unidentified mysteries. However, one appearance 114 years ago caused quite a stir - until the mystery was solved, of course.

On July 12, 1899, just before noon, Pete Donnally looked out the window of the Grand Haven Tannery and was astonished to see what he described to the Grand Haven Tribune as "a large sea serpent," swimming rapidly down the main channel of the Grand River, in the distance.

A number of other employees of the tannery gathered at the windows, witnessing the creature as well.

Donnally described the creature's glimmering eyes, resembling "two big balls of fire," while others could see great spurts of water shoot from its nostrils. The creature created a visible wake up on the high banks of Lievense Island, in the river.

For Many Russians Ufo And Bigfoot Equally Realistic

For Many Russians Ufo And Bigfoot Equally Realistic Image
A paradox was revealed during a recent poll of the Russians. In spite of the fact that approximately 70 percent of the country's population call themselves believers, only 26 percent believe that life after death is possible. The beliefs of the Russians are generally contradictory: Russians bring Easter cakes to church to "make them holy" but at the same time are afraid of black cats and broken mirrors.

"Public opinion" fund decided to poll the Russians on the possibility of resurrection after death. The fund found out that despite the fact that 59 percent of the citizens consider themselves Orthodox, and ten percent say that they belong to other denominations, only 26 percent believe in an afterlife.

For 54 percent resurrection is no more than a myth. The majority of those who do not believe in the afterlife are represented by rural residents, men, students and seniors.

Another interesting fact is those who do believe in the afterlife are people with an income of over 30,000 rubles a month, entrepreneurs and executives. Surprisingly, there were more of those who believed in eternal life among the businessmen than among those who call themselves Orthodox Christians: 43 percent versus 31.

According to the numerous surveys and studies, human faith is generally a collection of paradoxes and even absurdities. Russians who call themselves Orthodox Christians consider it their duty to wear a cross, but at the same time do not shy away from horoscopes and psychics' services. A growing number of advertisement promising "to return the beloved one" and "ward off a competitor" indicate a growing demand.

Generally in the recent years Russians have become much more skeptical. Horoscopes, prophetic dreams and professional astrologers are still popular among the population, but to a much lesser extent. Alien life for the majority of the Russians is as much a fairy tale as the life after death. Possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations is denied by 58 percent of Russians.

However, the skepticism of the Russian people does not apply to every day superstitions. Little green creatures and life after death seem to be a myth to many, while troubles promised by a meeting with a black cat, a broken mirror or spilt salt are quite real for the most. The Russians believe that spitting over the left shoulder and knocking on wood is much more effective than a prayer or a call to the spirits.

It is worth mentioning that the representatives of the Church are not surprised by such data. Priests say that identifying themselves as Orthodox, people are not talking about religion, but, rather, the national and family tradition and culture. This means that many Russians do not believe in God, but call themselves Orthodox.

In fact, for many Russians a visit to a church during holidays or baptizing children is the same thing as knocking on wood or avoiding "jinxing," i.e., and old tradition designed to ward off trouble.

However, Russians are not the only ones that have such a strange attitude to religion. For example, 43 percent of Americans attend religious ceremonies every week, but this does not prevent 38 percent of the U.S. adults from believing in the existence of aliens, 33 percent believing in Bigfoot, and 37 percent - in ghosts. Of these, 23 percent are convinced that ghosts are their dead relatives or friends, while 20 percent said they personally met with the spirits of the dead.

Experts, however, argue that there is no paradox here. "Traditional" (in moderation) religion does not interfere with the belief in the paranormal, but quite the contrary: being open to the faith into the unknown, people are not so steadfast in their religious beliefs that reject the mysterious events in principle.

In other words, people who admit the existence of things unexplained from the viewpoint of science can be (or call themselves) Christians (Muslims, Jews), and with the same sincerity believe that aliens have visited Earth a number of times. An individual open to the faith in a higher intelligence, in principle can believe in some seemingly conflicting things. Traditional religions are traditional because people transfer their commitment to a particular confession from generation to generation, observing certain rituals as a family. But it is often nothing more than a tribute to the national culture, rather than a sincere belief and commitment to a wholly-owned church dogma.

To qualify, all candidates:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

NKYPYG was born after I located the closest ghost investigation group to Covington, KY - a group located in Xenia, OH (which doesn't appear to be around anymore, btw) - and their investigator requirements required you to be at least 18. Shortly after that I took the MUFON Field Investigator Test and learned that although I could turn it in, they would hold it until I was 18. I was classified as an "Associate Member" and I could be nothing more since I was under 18.

Of the few things bridging the gap between UFO and ghost organizations, this annoying restriction appears to be one of them. For legal purposes, it's perfectly understandable that a non-profit would not want field investigators - who could get injured - to be under the age of 18. However, in the field of the paranormal - a field looked down upon by many mainstream scientists - there are many reasons why we should be including youth in our investigations.

First and foremost, the youth are our future. You hear this touted in many places and fields, but it is of the utmost importance in Ufology. There have been essays by the "old guard" (see Friedman's "Perceptions" column in the June 2003 MUFON UFO Journal, to which I have previously written a response to) where they acknowledge the need to get youth more involved, to take the place of past Ufologists who are passing away more and more each decade (see UFO group membership numbers, 1960's vs. 1990's). But their recommendations on how to get the youth involved in these organizations is simply too out of touch with today's generation. Example in point: Friedman's article suggested that youth could get involved in MUFON by going to their local libraries and searching through newspaper microfilm for past UFO reports. Trust me, while this is an important step in investigating historical UFO sightings, you're not going to get the youth to care about UFO's this way. Simply put, top UFO organizations will die out (as they have been doing for years) if they do not appeal to generation after generation.

Today's youth are hands-on. While there are still a select few who benefit from lectures, the vast majority prefer getting out there and doing what they're learning. This presents a unique opportunity to paranormal groups because today's field technology is substantially cheaper than it was in previous years. For under 100, a team of three could easily be outfitted with enough equipment to perform a good, standard preliminary investigation of a site and report back to headquarters about whether or not the site warrants further investigation. In Ufology, the same could be said about interviewing witnesses rather than investigating a site. When it comes down to it, there simply aren't enough good investigators out there. See last month's MUFON CMS Ranking Report, for example, in which 16 states weren't even able to assign cases to investigators - two of those states being Ohio and Kentucky - simply because there aren't enough available investigators to tackle them. It is ridiculous that MUFON would deny the under 18 crowd (the upper age bracket of which can drive cars, btw) the right to investigate these cases simply because of their age.

In other scientific fields youth are encouraged to participate, not only in lectures and classrooms but by getting in the laboratory and conducting experiments. Even in the field of parapsychology, I was able to carry out a round of d'ej`a vu experiments being put on by Cornell University while in a psychology class my junior year of high school. There are also summer camps as early as elementary and middle school where participants get to use the same equipment as professionals in locations where they might also get injured (I can recall my Astronomy class during Duke TIP at KU traveling with telescopes to a private field outside of Lawrence, KS and spending much of the night there: a scenario similar to any UFO field investigation). It appears that "real scientists" have solved the problem of how to let minors get involved: it's called a waiver. We used to use these for my NKYPYG group. You simply have the students' parent or guardian sign that it's ok for their son or daughter to participate in your organization, including field work. Add some legal "fine print" that prevents them from suing your organization and you're free to allow the students to participate.

So now that the legal barriers are aside, what else could youth offer to a paranormal investigation? Seeing as how much EVP research involves audio at strange frequencies, youth could be helpful in identifying the source of a noise that appears to only play back on audio tape to adults. It is simple science that the younger you are, the greater your range of audible frequencies. Just think about the new "mosquito" ring tones and The Mosquito, a device that attempts to keep youth from loitering in a location by playing an annoying sound at a frequency that only they can hear. In addition to better hearing, youth also tend to have better eyesight, which can be very helpful if an anomaly manifests at a distance during an investigation.

The greatest asset that youth have to offer such investigations are fewer investigator biases. As paranormal investigators age, they carry with them beliefs and values that can affect their research. Youth are still forming these beliefs and values which make it less likely that they will apply them to their research. As I was quoted as saying in a recent newspaper article, "Young people can see things with new eyes... They can keep an open mind to things that adults may explain away."

Ultimately, it will be the youth who carry on your organization. With popular shows like Sci-Fi's "Ghost Hunters" capturing youth's attention and teaching them incorrect investigation methods and techniques (which could be as much Sci-Fi's fault as TAPS's), it will be up to paranormal organizations to re-train them at the age of 18 or 21, and we all know that it's easier to learn the right way the first time than it is to change your way of thinking later on in life. Why not properly train youth as soon as they are interested in being a field investigator, and why not tap that already readily available resource to increase your case assignment and completion ratios? Even if your group only allows youth to investigate a case under the direction of an adult field investigator, that's a step in the right direction for the paranormal field. To be respected by "established" scientists, our best bet is to let tomorrow's scientists know just how professional our investigative standards are.

Sean Feeney is the Director of The Anomaly Response Network, a group dedicated to the objective study of all forms of unusual phenomena that encourages youth participation.

Luke Afb Attracts Ufo

Luke Afb Attracts Ufo Image
Whether you believe in them or not, there have been too many sightings of UFOs, Unidentified Flying Objects, Flying Saucers, or however you refer to them, to be totally ignored. This curious article was extracted from "Project Blue Book", written by "EJR" former chief of the Air Force's project for investigating reports of UFOs.

The incident took place at Luke AFB, Arizona, the Air Force's advanced fighter-bomber school that is named after the famous "balloon buster" of World War I, Lieunottenant Frank Luke, Jr. It was a sighting that produced some very internotesting photographs.

The sky was clear except for a few high cirrus clouds, late morning of March 3, 1953, when the pilot took off from Luke Air Base in an F-84 jet, to add some more hours to his flight log. He had been flying F-51s in Korea and had recently started to check out in the jets. After take off, clearing the traffic pattern, he climbed toward Blythe Radio, situated about 130 miles west of Luke.

He'd climbed for several minutes and had just picked up the coded letters BLH that identified Blythe Radio when he looked up through the corner glass in the front part of his canopy-traveling left to right at two o'clock from his current position, the pilot noticed what initially appeared to be an airplane, leaving a long, thin vapor trail. He glanced down at his altimeter and saw that he was at 23,000 feet. The object that was leaving the vapor trail must really be high, he remembered thinking, because he couldn't see any airplane at the head of it.

He altered his course a few degrees to the right so that he could follow the trail and increased his rate of climb. It soon became clear to the pilot that he was gaining on the source of the vapor trail, as he was right under the middle of it. Still no object was visible. He felt this was strange, as vapor trails do not just occur; something has to leave them.

He had now climbed another 12,000 feet to 35,000 feet, according to his altimeter. Still climbing, the F-84 began to mush; it was as high as it would go. The pilot dropped down 1,000 feet and continued on-even when he was below the front of the trail, however, still no sight of an airplane. This bothered him too.

Nothing in 1953 flew over 55,000 feet except a few experimental airplanes like the D-558 or those of the "X" series, and they don't stray far from Edwards AFB in California.

He couldn't be more than 15,000 feet from the front of the trail, and you can recognize any kind of an airplane 15,000 feet away in the clear air of the sub stratosphere.

He looked again and again. He moved the F-84 back and forth, convinced a flaw in the canopy's plexiglass was blanking out the airplane, however, still none to be seen. Whatever the object, it was darned high, or darned small. The object was traveling at approximately 300 miles an hour, as it was necessary to reduce engine power and "S" to stay under it.

He was beginning to get low on fuel about this time so he hauled up the nose of the jet, took about 30 feet of gun camera film, and started down. After landing the pilot told his story and the subsequent processing and viewing of the film was given priority. It showed a weird, thin, forked vapor trail-but no airplane.

Lieutenant Olsson and Airman Futch (veterans of the UFO campaign of 1952) worked the report over thornotoughly. Confirmation from the photo lab proved this was definitely a vapor trail, rather than a freak cloud formation. But Air Force Flight Service said, "No other airplanes in the area," and so did Air Defense Command, because minutes after the F-84 pilot broke off contact, the "object" had passed into an ADIZ-Air Defense Identification Zone-and radar had shown nothing.

There was one last possibility: an astronomer confirmed that the photos resembled the smoke trail of a meteor. But there was one hitch: the pilot was convinced that the speed of the object at the head of the vapor trail was approximately 300 miles per hour. He was unsure how many miles had been covered, but on first picking up Blythe Radio, whilst flying on Green 5 airway, he was approximately 30 miles west of his Air Base. When the pilot had disengaged from the chase, a further radio bearing confirmed his position as almost up to Needles Radio, 70 miles north of Blythe. He could see a lake, Lake Mojave, in the distance.

Was a high-altitude jet-stream wind the reason for the smoke cloud? Futch checked this-no. The usual westerly winds were above 20,000 feet, with the jet stream on the north.

Several months later I talked to a captain who had been at Luke when this sighting occurred. He knew the F-84 pilot, whose report he had heard in minute detail. Maybe not a confirmed believer, however, certainly curious. "I never gave much thought to previous reports," he said, "but I know this particular chap well. He's not nuts. What do you think he saw?"

I don't know what he saw. Maybe he didn't travel as far as he thought he did. Maybe, it could have been the smoke trail from a meteor that he saw. But if he did know that he'd covered some 80 miles during the chase, I'd say that he saw a UFO-a real one. I cannot believe that pilots don't know what they're doing.

The state mark your ballot feeling to become known UFO "X-files" is starting again in Denver. Jeff Peckman of the Extra Campaign, filed a develop of the proposed ordinance, to deliver an Space invader Family Job, at the Denver Capital and District company on Lobby 20. The cessation lobby group is viewed by reliable as potentially excellent controlling than the U.S. government in achieving disclosure of evidence about UFOs and extraterrestrial theater group to Nation.

The new develop is a schoolwork of a analogous apply for settled for circulation in September 2008. That apply for was put on take on after Barack Obama was self-ruled Regulate of the Seam States. A arise of key clan in the Obama govern take publicly approved the release of the government's UFO 'X-files'. For that reason, signature accretion for the apply for was on the brink. Bolt from the blue advocates hoped that goodness and frankness, advocated by Regulate Obama, would count in disclosure of UFO 'X-files'.

Yet, the lack of plain custom in UFO disclosure from the Obama govern has encouraged restarting the Denver feeling. The new proposal is to bring in to a innovative win over - the win over of the Band. Adamski And The Occult

Adamski And The Occult Image

BY NICK REDFERN

I'M VERY OFTEN ASKED WORDS TO THE EFFECT OF: WHAT EVIDENCE DID THE COLLINS ELITE (THE CLANDESTINE THINK-TANK GROUP IN THE U.S. GOVERNMENT WHOSE ACTIVITIES ARE THE SUBJECT OF MY "FINAL EVENTS" BOOK) FIND TO SUPPORT THEIR HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL IDEA THAT THE UFO PHENOMENON IS DEMONIC IN ORIGIN? WELL, AS FAR AS CAN BE ASCERTAINED, THEY DIDN'T FIND "ANY" EVIDENCE.

Rather, they developed a vast body of "beliefs" relative to such matters - which is what often happens in paranormal-themed situations when hard evidence fails to materialize and the researcher either becomes frustrated by the quest for the truth, or has an emotional need to gravitate to one idea or another, something which often results from weakness and insecurity, or an arrogant and ego-driven conclusion that one is right, despite being unable to prove it.

But, that's not to say the Collins Elite didn't uncover a wealth of intriguing threads that they wove together into an extraordinary scenario. They most certainly did. One of them relates to none other than a certain George Adamski. Born in Poland in 1891, Adamski had the distinction of being the most supported, celebrated, and ridiculed of those who claimed direct contact with human-like extraterrestrials in the 1950s.

The controversy largely began on November 20, 1952, when Adamski claimed that he witnessed, along with six other people, the landing of a UFO in the Californian desert and then made contact with its pilot, one Orthon of the planet Venus.

FBI documentation of 1953 on Adamski's claimed encounter with the extraterrestrial Orthon states:

"At a point ten and two-tenths miles from Desert Center on the road to Parker and Needles, Arizona, Adamski made contact with a space craft and had talked to a space man. Adamski stated that he, [deleted] and his wife Mary had been out in the desert and that he and the persons with him had seen the craft come down to the earth. Adamski stated that a small stairway in the bottom of the craft, which appeared to be a round disc, opened and a space man came down the steps. Adamski stated he believed there were other space men in the ship because the ship appeared translucent and could see the shadows of the space men."

The alien that allegedly confronted Adamski, the FBI noted, was "over five feet in height, having long hair like a woman's and garbed in a suit similar to the space suits or web suits worn by the US Air Force men." (The image to the left is a scan of one of the many pages contained within the FBI's dossier on Adamski).

This was a story greatly expanded upon in a 1953 book entitled "Flying Saucers Have Landed" that Adamski wrote with an Irish aristocrat named Desmond Leslie. It was this Adamski-Leslie connection that got the members of the Collins Elite all worked up and bent out of shape. One of the former Collins Elite staffers told me that the group quickly became concerned by the working relationship that existed between Adamski and Leslie, and for one very stark and eye-opening reason: Desmond Leslie had a long and rich link to the world of the occult, including - in a roundabout way - Aleister Crowley himself.

As Dr. David Clarke and Andy Roberts note in their book, "Flying Saucerers", Leslie's father, Sir Shane (who was a second cousin to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill) was a truly colorful character. Indeed, he caused a sensation by converting to Roman Catholicism and the Nationalist cause. In addition, he spent part of his early years in Russia, where he became friends with Leo Tolstoy, before traveling across Europe.

It was during these travels that Sir Shane became obsessed with the world of the supernatural, which led him to carefully collect stories for his "Shane Leslie's Ghost Book", published in 1955. Sir Shane's closest friends at this time included the acclaimed paranormal novelist M.R. James and the eccentric Lord Tredegar, who dabbled in the black arts, under the influence of Aleister Crowley's teachings, at his country estate in Wales.

So Desmond Leslie was, in a roundabout and convoluted fashion, someone who had been exposed to the occult and the teachings of Crowley. Just like rocket scientist and Crowley devotee Jack Parsons - another character whose 1940s/early 1950s actions greatly troubled the Collins Elite. And that Leslie was digging into the world of Flying Saucers with George Adamski only troubled them even more and amplified their beliefs that the UFO phenomenon was/is demonic.

Unconnected threads that happened to occasionally cross paths, or evidence that the Collins Elite members were correct? In the absence of evidence one way or the other, it all comes down to belief and interpretation of the data and facts.

Squadron Leader Gordon Waller And His Flying Saucer

Squadron Leader Gordon Waller And His Flying Saucer Image

INTRODUCTION:

RAAF Squadron Leader Gordon Waller's name first came to my attention some years ago, when I was researching the 1960 Cressy, Tasmania case (click here.) I noted that he was the investigating officer for the RAAF.

INTERVIEW:

In 2010, courtesy of an introduction by Sydney based researcher Bill Chalker, I interviewed Gordon. I opened up the conversation by asking him how he had come to investigate the Browning's (Cressy witnesses) report? Gordon told me that he was, at that time, the senior RAAF officer in Tasmania. As such he was in charge of the RAAF's University Training Squadron (Air Training Corp.) He said that he received a request from the Minister of Air to investigate a UFO sighting at Cressy. He was stationed in Hobart, so he went to the local Aero club and hired an aircraft, flew it to Launcston, where he landed the aircraft in a paddock near to the Browning's residence.

Gordon said that he "Was struck by the ordinariness of these two people" referring to the Brownings. He was impressed by the fact that the observation "Was not a fleeting observation." I asked Gordon whether or not at that time in 1960, he had any interest in the topic of "flying saucers?" He said he did not. Gordon completed his official report on the case and sent it off to higher authority.

OTHER CASES HE INVESTIGATED:

Later, while examining the RAAF's UFO files series A703, control symbol 580/1/1, I came across another case (580/1/1 part 3 p43.) which Gordon had investigated. Electricity Commission workers at Yass, sighted a silver coloured object in the sky on 22 Aug 1962. The object was said to have been in the same position all day. Fairbairn RAAF base was asked to send up an aircraft to take a look. On 23 Aug 1962 Fairbairn advised "...no solid object seen." On the 23 Aug 1962 a witness contacted the RAAF to say that the object was again visible, at 1345hrs at bearing 060 degrees and 15 degrees to the vertical, in cloudless skies.

Squadron Leaders Waller and McAltec were sent to investigate. Gordon said the object was "...silver on side facing Sun, dark on other." A theodolite showed it was "...moving from NE to SW at 20 deg in 2 or 3 hrs." The Mt Stromlo observatory, when consulted, suggested Venus. "Case closed" notes the RAAF file.

At another time, I found a third case which Gordon had looked into. On NAA file series A703 control symbol 580/1/1 party 2, pages12-13 are a memo from Gordon to the Department of Air dated 3 Dec 1960. The case is dated 18 Oct 1960 from a Mrs D A Webster and her daughter Miss S Webster of Delmont, Tasmania. They reported seeing a moving object which then hovered, at 1630hrs. It was cigar shaped with a round nose and a sloping tail. Gordon's report draws attention to a number of similarities between this sighting and the Cressy event. A hand written note on the file states that a TAA VIscount VH-TVG was in approximately the position of the sighting at the time.

NEW AIRCRAFT DESIGN:

During the course of my interview with him, Gordon fetched an ancient manila folder from another room. From it he produced newspaper clippings concerning the USAF?Canadian circular aircraft from the 1950"s - the AVRO car (click here.)

(As an aside at this point I'd like to mention that I once came across a file in the National Archives of Australia, file series A6059 control symbol 3/441/7 titled "Flying saucer- Avrocar, with a date range of 1959-1959. The originating agency was the Department of Defence -Central Office.)

Also, from the same folder, he produced some of his own old papers relating to an aircraft propulsion system which he had designed. I noted this at the time, but thought little of it at that point.

GORDON'S NAA FILE:

Last year while browsing the NAA RecordSearch, I came across a file which mentioned Gordon's name, which intrigued me. File series MP1469/1 control symbol R13/2/29 was titled "Request by Department of Air for Aeronautical Research Laboratories to undertake a feasibility study on a new aircraft design invented by Squadron Leader G L Waller." I decided to ask for the file to be examined and released to me. Several months later, I was able to read a digitised copy. It turned out to contain papers relating to the material which Gordon showed me in 2010.

The file is 29 pages in length and highlights include:

Page 27 is a memo from the Department of Air, Canberra dated 22 Mar 1966 to the Department of Supply. It refers an aircraft design by Gordon and seeks the advice of the Aeronautical Research Laboratories (ARL) (click here) on Gordon's design. "In very broad terms the aircraft as described as consisting essentially of a body, which could be circular in shape..."

Pge 24 of the file shows that the Acting Deputy Chief Scientist referred the matter to the ARL, Fisherman's Bend, Melbourne, Victoria, on 1 Apr 1966. To set this date in a UFO context, the Westall High School, Melbourne event (click here) happened five days later.

Page 21 is a letter from Gordon, dated 5 Apr 1966 to a Dr W A S Butement, Chief Scientist, Department of Supply, and included the line "Your and Mr Wills interest in my VTOL aircraft concept..." Included at page 19 is a cross sectional drawing of the proposed design, clearly showing it was indeed a circular air body.

Gordon submitted a patent application on the design and pages 7 to 19 of the file are a copy of this application, for an "Aircraft with Annular Aerofoil" dated 4 Feb 1966.

At page 3 is the ARL report which included the comment "The data provided by S L Waller is too inadequate to attempt a precise feasibility study...At this stage it is only possible to say, in view of the foregoing remarks, that there does not seem to be any obvious aerodynamic advantage in the proposal over systems obtaining lift by directional axial acceleration of a vertical jet..." Finally, page 1 is a memo from the ARL dated 23 May 1966 to the Department of Air - effectively no further action to be taken.

BACK TO MY INTERVIEW:

At the conclusion of my interview with Gordon, and while still talking about his aircraft deign proposal, Gordon mentioned that he had sent off a copy of his material to a Professor "Muller" (my spelling) in the USA.

ENTER JACQUES VALLEE:

At around this time I was reading Jacques Vallee's book "Forbidden Science - Volume 2:, published by Documentica Research, LLC. 2008. ISBN 978-0-615-24974-2. Surprisingly, I came across the name of one Paul Moller. Vallee's entry on page 294 of his book was dated 26 Apr 1975. The entry reads:

"I spent the afternoon with Paul Moller, a professor of aeronautical engineering at U.C. Davis who's built a saucer-shaped vehicle that flies a few feet off the ground, using a series of propellers powered by snowmobile engines. He is a young fellow in blue jeans interested in UFOs. Moller's research contradicts Claude Poher's statements about the aerodynamic properties of a disk. Poher concluded that discs were aerodynamically poor. "That's only true as a gross generalization" Moller told me. "The situation changes if you take into account the properties of the interface between the object and the air."

It certainly appeared to me that this Moller was Gordon's "Muller." A recent check on the Internet revealed that Paul Moller is an engineer who has spent the last forty years developing the personal VTOL vehicle (click here.)

IN CONCLUSION:

After reading the NAA file on Gordon's new aircraft design, the first thought that came to my mind was, that Gordon's proposal was suggesting a circular or disc shaped aircraft. I then wondered if he got the idea from his examination of UFO reports?
