Richard Hall (see link) possessed a philosophy degree from Tulane university, so perhaps he would have been the first to understand my "logical" progression from reading books about UFOs in 1963 to becoming a member of a UFO organization in 1964.
He was the assistant director of that organization, NICAP (see link), and from the moment I discovered its existence in Washington, D.C. I was sending him letters incessantly. To both his credit and patience, he generally answered each and every one, no matter that I was a very curious and annoying teenager whose constant inquiries would surely have been dismissed by a lesser individual. Early on, Richard's careful approach, outlined in his books and during his editorship of NICAP's "UFO Investigator", taught me the value of caution in endorsing or rejecting UFO cases.
Extensive biographical information about Hall can be found at Kevin Randle's blog site (see link), and Randle also includes a great life's summary from researcher Larry Bryant, so there's no need for me to rehash what's out there already (and it should be noted, too, that he involved himself with editorial duties for the International Fortean Organization's "INFO Journal" for a short time). From my perspective, however, I note that Richard was the first UFO researcher I ever contacted and I was better off for having the opportunity to tap his knowledge. As mentioned on previous blog occasions here, I actually met him in person during a 1965 trip to Washington, and on that warm summer day I also spent a few minutes with NICAP director Donald Keyhoe. Though the country was engulfed at that time in an abundance of UFO reports, causing chaos at the small NICAP office, Richard kindly took the time to gather some documents together for me, souvenirs of that brief visit.
When the impressive Northeast power blackout occurred on November 9, 1965 in conjunction with numerous reports of UFOs, Hall was available by phone and correspondence to guide me through the gathering of reports. When he discovered that the Pentagon's Air Force spokesman, Maj. Maston Jacks, sent me a letter referring to the 1964 Socorro, NM UFO as a "vehicle," he broke the story in "The UFO Investigator". The first time I ever had a chance to write for a national magazine in the seventies, it was Dick Hall and Jim and Coral Lorenzen who put in a good word to the editor on my behalf. If I harbor any regrets, one that comes to mind instantly is my inability to review the copy of his book, "Uninvited Guests" that he sent me several years ago, because the Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained (SITU) and its journal "Pursuit", which I wrote for regularly, crashed before I could submit a piece.
If we multiply the good things he did for me by the multitude of great things he did for others interested in UFOs over the years, it's clear that Richard Hall was the man, the very essence of what UFO researchers should be. Unlike some, he never expressed his message with shout-downs and ridicule. Instead, he relied upon truth, logic and effective communication skills. His was the cool head, adorned with a cohesive train of thought, evidenced no better than in the outstanding editorial precision he exerted upon "The UFO Evidence", a sober document given to every member of Congress in 1964.
Years had passed, many years, and the last time I had any contact with Richard was in 2007, when we exchanged a few e-mails regarding the death of Al Chop. He wanted to write an obituary for his own UFO journal and was soliciting whatever information might be available, though he did have a small file on Chop that he couldn't locate at that time.
Richard Hall's absence, I fear, will encourage the usual charlatans crouching in wait to fill the void left when he passed, taking rare integrity and insight with him. Goodbye Richard, we'll miss you and your profound contributions to UFO research. Aren't many like you left out there.
(ABOUT THE LETTERS SHOWN HERE: The June 11, 1965 letter refers to Daniel Cohen, then the very UFO-skeptical editor of Science Digest. UFO researcher Jacques Vallee is mentioned as well. The October 25, 1965 letter mentions a couple of people attached to the UFO research community, as well as the disappearance of a letter I loaned to NICAP (yes, they eventually found and returned it). The January 24, 1966 letter was written by Richard as a favor, intended to be seen by others, when I attempted to interest radio station program directors in presenting a weekly UFO show (which never happened, despite the letter's examples of success). The final letter, dated November 2, 1966, came about because a group of Central New Yorkers, more concerned with wild flying saucer contactee stories than UFO facts, tried and almost succeeded in organizing a local NICAP relationship -- until their cover was blown.)
The world is firmly in the hands of the evil Illuminati under Vatican and Jesuit control and here are a few examples illustrating the problem facing freedom fighters in America. First, it must be understood the New World Order leaders around the world are a tight-knit group, working together to foster war in the Middle East, leading to its destruction as well as the destruction of Israel and the United States.
To accomplish this endgame of a one world religion based in Jerusalem and a world one government under a fascist/communist network of so-called independent states, it is important that the Vatican have all the major world leaders appear to be on different sides of the fence when, in fact, they are deceptively working together to bring about the Illuminati's goal of a world consisting of a commonwealth of independent (fascist) states. In fact for freedom in America to survive, Americans need to view the world completely different than what's told to them in history books and on major television networks. Americans need to first understand they are being deceived and have been deceived for a long time.
But looking on the bright side, it's never to late to find the truth and the truth is all the major leaders of the world's governments and religions are on the same evil New World Order team with their eventual goal to destroy freedom in America.
And unless Americans realize this now and fight back in every way possible, they will sadly realize it late when unfortunately it will be too late, as those people left after America's population is greatly reduced by New World Order violence will wake up in a completely different America, an America draped in chains and fascism which is, by the way, the Vatican's government of choice.
So, the first step is to realize that Satanic leaders like Bush, Putin, Blair, Chavez and others in the Middle East, China, Japan and North Korea are all working together to instigate war and violence, necessary for the New World plan of total control to succeed.
They, of course, put on a completely different show but that is the Vatican and Jesuit plan during this time in history which should be labeled the age of deception, especially in America.
Furthermore, it has been that way for a long time in other countries around the world, but now it is just America's turn to deal with the Vatican and Jesuit deception head on. Besides most all governments and religions of the world already being corrupted by the satanic power emanating from the Vatican, the deceivers hiding behind the name of God use a worldwide web of Masonic Lodges to front the New World Order objectives and plans.

Chris Rutkowski posted in our sub rosa Facebook group looking into the "Roswell slides" that he had heard from the dean of pro-ET Roswell researchers Stan Friedman that Stan had been asked to appear at the May 5th event in Mexico City being staged by the slides promoters, and that Stan had declined. I contacted Stan yesterday and asked him to confirm this, and he did. "I can't find a connection between the slides and aliens at Roswell," he replied.
I followed up with Stan and asked him three specific questions on the record:
1. Who invited him to attend;
2. Was he going to be paid; and
3. Did he see the slides, or were they expecting him to participate without first having seen them.
His reply:
I was interviewed separately by Dew and Maussan at the 24th Annual International UFO Congress in Scottsdale Arizona Feb.18-22.and Maussan who has interviewed me before, broached the possibility of my attending the May 5 event with all expenses paid.No other remuneration was offered. I was on my way to San Diego to give a lecture at the Association of Electronics Industries on Feb. 25. On return here I received an email from Don Schmitt urging me to attend and then a note from Jaime.I saw some poor screen images, but did not handle or examine the slides. Several people I respect strongly urged me not to attend. After I told them (S and M) I had decided not to go, I received a brief note expressing regrets from Tom Carey. My original thinking was that I was certainly going to be asked about the slides afterward so that getting first hand information would allow me tO express an "enlightened" evaluation.Anyway, good for Stan. He and I may disagree about Roswell in general, but when it comes to the "slides" we are in accord.

UFO researcher Paola Harris talked about the state of ufology in the second hour. In the latter half of the show, she was joined by Kim Arnold, the daughter of Kenneth Arnold, the pilot who coined the phrase "flying saucer," after he witnessed a series of strange tailless craft flying in formation near Mt. Rainier on June 24, 1947. A United Airlines crew reported seeing similar disk-like objects 10 days after Arnold's sighting, but in the famed Roswell Incident which occurred in early July 1947, the crashed ship was said to have a different shape, Harris noted.
Kim Arnold revealed that her father actually had seven UFO sightings following the initial one, including 25 brass-colored objects that flew in a pattern that he saw while flying to Tacoma. He also had a 1952 sighting over Susanville, CA in which two craft flew underneath his plane-- one appeared solid, the other partially transparent. "He realized at that time, they had the ability to change their density," she explained. In the initial '47 incident, Arnold observed the craft pulsating from their centers, similar to the beating of a human heart, and came to believe the objects were alive, and was later surprised when ufology focused on the idea of mechanical/metal craft and extraterrestrials.
Arnold outlined some of the difficulties her family faced, including ridicule and intimidation, as her father gained a great deal of attention for his UFO encounters. He ended up writing a book with Ray Palmer on his UFO sightings, and also did some lecturing and presentations. However, as he grew older, he became an embittered recluse, disgruntled over inaccurate reports the press made about his experiences, Arnold detailed. Interestingly, a couple years before his death in 1984, he revealed his belief that UFOs were the link between the living and the dead, she continued. Kim Arnold will debut her book, Kenneth Arnold, The Man Who Started it All, at Paola Harris' Women's UFO Symposium (to be held in May in Glen Rose, TX), where she will be the keynote speaker.

First hour guest, author Steve Alten talked about his latest work looking at the Mayan calendar and doomsday prophecies. The last "k'atun," a cycle of around 20 years, in the Mayan calendar ending in December 2012, predicts a time of great change. Alten cited a number of possible cataclysmic events that might arrive this year, including experiments at the Large Hadron Collider going seriously awry, the eruption of the Yellowstone caldera, and a landslide/tsunami originating in the Canary Islands.
