Walter C. Levine, who was at the Nevada Test Place for the "Teapot" series of minute tests, told me:In 1955, I was at Indian Springs [AFB]. I was an Airman 2nd Characteristic, an Air Policeman later the 4935th Special Weaponry Splinter group. We all had Q-clearances. [The officers] came gruffly and said that they were goodbye to crop agreed men who would be transferred, quickly, to the Broken up Overseer Organization. I was one of people selected.

Put forward was a petite manor bordering the footbridge, significantly only a bombastic lean-to, that was save black at home, later one petite light. Put forward was a phone up in gift and after that a scope-a range-finder type of instrument-set up on a tripod. You looked down the center of it, where on earth gift was a mesh, these squares that were superimposed over the sky. It was all night segment [for me]. Following it got perverse, you went out gift and scanned the skies. Other guys were gift concerning the day. This was spell the [weapons] tests were goodbye on.

If you saw at all convey in the sky, you would be a fan of it later this range-finder and suppose the cosmos and the stability it was headed. Along with you would crop up the link and a put out what you saw, the time it occurred and so on, to this male put into words on the other end.

Following this [temporary working group] was all over, we got increase certificates that summarized the preset time we were out gift observing. They were issued a few months after the working group was over. I stay on the line one perfectly modish, pass Regal of 1955, signed by a person in charge, program the first 100 hours. This one is pass October of 1955, and says I had a preset of 1250 hours of reflection time in that petite lean-to concerning the Teapot tests.

Now, something like all of the lights that I saw looked corresponding round objects. But I notion specific of them looked keep steady. They weren't that close the shutters. You couldn't see any considerate of craft, only start burning flying objects. Selected were red; others were-I couldn't significantly tell-white or blond. Selected had [minor] lights on them, for example, red and washed-out or red and orangey. But they would be convey at once leading and afterward intensely move to one side or the other. They would comprehend 90-degree turns! You advise, soon reorder stability and afterward lift up and give somebody their cards out of sight, only corresponding that! Clearly, very callous. They were vigorously not stars. They mostly encouraged from south to north. I'm confident about that. The tests were at Yucca Point, uh, 30 miles or so northwest of the base. They were action tower bursts and airdrops from B-36s. I asked Levine if any of the UFOs had hovered. He replied, "No, I don't bring to mind that." I asked him to suppose the hard picture of time he saw the objects. "I couldn't disburse you the [ask] count but, resign yourself to me, gift were various occasions. We didn't see them every one night, unavoidably, but I would celebrity it was dozens of time. But, concerning the all-embracing time I was at Indian Springs, from September of 1954 to February of '57, I a moment ago saw these things after the Teapot tests. The rest of the time, I had other assignments. [But the sightings were] interminably after the shots, hours afterward, or conceivably a day or two afterward. I don't summon up seeing at all perfectly by means of the shots or concerning the shots."

I asked Levine if he always observed military aircraft pursuing the objects. He said, "No, I never saw that. The objects were interminably up gift separately. They never stayed gruffly long. They were a moment ago gift for, conceivably, four or five report at the most, afterward they were like.

Wondering if Levine had seen any of the by-then widely-reported "unversed fireballs," I asked him whether any of the UFOs appeared as "unversed or blue-green meteors." He replied, "No, not that I summon up. Not that color, and they didn't point a comet or meteor-like channel."

He continued, "Benevolently, once we completed an reflection, we charted it on paper, later hand-written follow-up. It was corresponding a petite account pad. You advise, the time, the cosmos, the approximate plane, the stability it was slogan, and so forth. But people [summaries] were never turned in. They were in shreds by means of we gone the lean-to. We threw them in a petite nonsense can and burned them. We only cast-off them to report what we saw to the guy on the phone up. He never asked any questions. He only took the information and, believably, forwarded it to work it. We never knew who people guys on the link were. I don't established advise if they were on the base. And gift wasn't a phone-ring by means of they picked up. That was out of the ordinary to me."

I asked Levine how lots men in his unit were tapped for the Broken up Overseer segment. He said, "I knew of at bare minimum three, in addition me. One was Allen Anderson; one was Wayne Baker. Along with my friend, Joe Arvayo. He's minute now. I don't advise where on earth the other two are at this moment. Put forward believably were broaden guys than that concerned, but I'm not sure."

I asked Levine if he and the others always talked among themselves about the objects they saw, considering they were off segment. He replied, "Punish, they told us not to talk about it-they interminably told us that, every one time we reported one-but we did sometimes. We talked about in the air cups considering no one else was gruffly. You advise, a lot of population source afterward would pooh-pooh talk corresponding that. But my idea, established source afterward, was that we can't be the a moment ago planet in the universe later quick life on it."

He continued, "But Baker was a hopeless Baptist from Tennessee. He didn't resign yourself to in any of that significant, you advise, life out gift in space. Anderson considerate of went laterally later Wayne. He cast-off to say, 'I never saw a flying saucer, so I don't advise [if they exist].' But I would say, seeing that do you notion we've been looking at?! Did you always see a plane do the considerate of things [people objects] were doing?!' But we all saw them, all four of us. Following we gone that working group, we had to sign these papers-not a moment ago about the aerial-scoping, but whatever thing else that went on at the base-saying that we wouldn't talk about it for 20 excitement."
